Who am I?
I started a blog back in 2008 called Larger Family Life. It grew quite popular but the story I shared wasn’t the truth that was.
My life hasn’t turned out the way I had expected it to. My forties saw me escape a coercively controlled marriage and my decision to leave cost me everything; my home, my children, my mental and physical health.
Sharing my story, I quickly realised I am not alone.
Many women have experienced the same, and find themselves facing the question, ‘Now what?” When life turns on a sixpence like this, leaving a relationship I had been in since the age of 14, I found myself questioning who I even was.
I realised that I have no idea who I am or what I am capable of.
Deciding to put a different spin on this perspective, I’ve decided to look at this as a period of rebirth. The phoenix tattoo on my wrist, my one and only tattoo, reminds me that I can rise over and over and over, from whatever challenges life brings me, and that I can and will create a wonderful life for myself, no matter what my past brought me.
I have decided to embark on what I refer to as my ‘second life’, stepping out of my comfort zone as I read, learn, challenge and explore avenues that I have the opportunity to discover, in a quest to live the best life ever, on my terms.
I studied as a Life Coach and Behaviour Change Therapist. I don’t claim to have all the answers. What I can offer is an insight into my own thoughts, experiences and challenges, and a supportive community and reassurance that nobody who now finds themselves wondering, ‘What now?’, is alone.
Join my tribe as I explore the fields of behaviour psychology, personal development, self-improvement, mindset, transformation, manifestation, life coaching, health and fitness, travel and adventure and much more, so that we can create and live the best life ever.
Why walk barefoot, you might ask?
Not so much a box of chocolates as a pair of shoes.
Everyone has shoes that hurt.
Relationship shoes, financial shoes, health shoes…
Iss-Shoes, if you like. (*laughs manically at my own humour*)
How far could you go if you walked barefoot?
Everyone’s shoes are different. You might find you have more than one pair of shoes.
Relationships, jobs, friendships, finances… sometimes they start rubbing you the wrong way and you put up with them.
You believe you must have them.
You believe you need them.
You believe you must wear them.
The little irritations mount up.
They cut and scar and leave marks.
They cause you to stumble.
You doubt your own ability to keep going.
Eventually you realise you don’t need them.
You get rid of your shoes.
YOU GET RID OF YOUR ISS-SHOES!
We Walk Barefoot and Free
Free to discover.
Free to think.
Free to try.
Free to focus on YOU.
And then you walk taller.
No more pain.
You are worth more than that.
It’s time to create the life you want.
It’s time for you.
The only thing is, I’m not an expert.
I don’t have a bloody clue what I’m doing.
All I know is that I want to live a fab life.
So I have decided to embark on a journey of discovery, education, information and determination to help me reach my goals.
Join my tribe, come along on this incredible experience with me and achieve your goals too!
